What are you looking for?

Product Engineer

Discover the dynamics of high tech

Due to the expansion of the Engineering department, we are looking for a new colleague!

As a product engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and improvement of our HMI products with touch screens for international customers. In this challenging position, you will have the opportunity to further develop yourself in different directions and areas. You will work on multiple improvement and development projects simultaneously, tackling customer-specific product developments as well as cost- and quality-conscious engineering of new and existing product groups, process improvements and production methodologies. Are you a recent graduate, do you want to work part-time alongside a study or do you have several years of work experience? Then we are looking for you!

What will you be doing?

As Product Engineer, you have a steering role within the multifunctional project teams. You supervise and coordinate release processes and maintain contact with customers, suppliers and colleagues about quality versus costs, manufacturability and deadlines of projects. You are aware of what is going on in the market, among other things by visiting trade fairs and (potential) suppliers.

You will work closely with various departments within the SCHURTER group companies including project managers, buyers, production managers and sales. Do you have experience in solving quality issues, writing 8D reports and discussing them with customers? We can put that to good use!

Some of the tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Design and development of new electronic products according to specifications and guidelines;

  • Analysing technical problems and implementing effective solutions;

  • Performing tests and quality checks to ensure product performance;

  • Continuous improvement of existing products and processes;

  • Preparation of technical documentation and reports.

Who are you?

You have a passion for product development, process improvements and production techniques. You are the expert in your field and you can work independently, proactively and self-directed. You have a pragmatic attitude and can turn innovative ideas into an optimal design. You keep to deadlines and have broad technical knowledge. Topics such as optical bonding, capacitive and resistive technology as well as design (including aesthetics) of touch products and research into new materials and techniques belong to your field of work. You will engineer your own prototype series from A to Z using SolidWorks.

  • What you bring:
    You have completed at least an HBO education, or even WO working and thinking level, in the field of innovation and technology. For example: mechatronics or mechanical engineering.

  • Work experience not required.

  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English (German is an advantage).

  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is preferred.
