SCHURTER was one of the first ISO 14001 certified companies in Switzerland in 1996.
Sustainability is today a global need. It is not a mandate that SCHURTER has to give to its group companies, but an expectation to actively address the issue.
Caring for the environment is a key element of SCHURTER’s corporate culture. We utilize resources efficiently, ensure environmental compatibility of our products, and sensitize our employees and partners to environmental concerns.
Rolf Nussbaumer, Chief Technical Officer, Engineering
For our Sustainability Report, we have oriented ourselves on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The 17 SDGs encompass 169 sub-goals for topics including the protection of the natural world to alleviating poverty.
In dialogue with internal and external stakeholders and in alignment with industry associations and expert opinions, we have identified essential topics and SDGs along our value creation chain. On this basis, the Sustainable Steering Committee has combined the topics into four dimensions which we will report on in the future. We have set specific objectives for the most relevant areas and are preparing more of them. Assessing our impact on the topic as well as the relevance for our stakeholders was key here.
SCHURTER started integrating environmental protection principles as early as 1990 and was one of the first ISO 14001 certified companies in Switzerland in 1996.
