SCHURTER Expands EKO Series for High-Current DC Applications

With the first expansion phase of the EKO series, SCHURTER significantly extends its portfolio of high-voltage DC fuses. The series now includes square-body fuses with rated voltages up to 1500 VDC and rated currents from 50 A to 2000 A.

Depending on the series, breaking capacities of up to 50 kA DC are available, while selected versions achieve up to 250 kA under the specified test conditions.

The new variants cover different mounting and connection concepts – from flush-end and DIN-rail versions to US-style bolted tags and MSD solutions. With EKO16, EKO41/42/43, EKO44, EKO83 and EKO85, the portfolio now offers a range of sizes and performance levels to meet different system requirements. Indicators and microswitches are also available as options, depending on the version.

Proprietary technology
The EKO fuses are based on a specially developed filler formulation and curing technology. This technology supports controlled fault containment and reduces the risk of housing damage, fire and ejected fragments. The series is designed in accordance with IEC 60269-4, UL 248-13 and GB/T 13539.4.

Applications
Key applications include Energy Storage Systems (ESS/BESS), EV charging and Manual Service Disconnects (MSD). The EKO series is also suitable for UPS systems, inverters, rectifiers, drives, as well as industrial applications and data-center infrastructure.
