The new three-terminal fuses SCHURTER STTP 9550 combine conventional overcurrent protection with an actively triggered overcharge protection function, providing an additional layer of safety for lithium-ion battery systems.
In addition to current-dependent interruption, the integrated trigger terminal enables controlled activation in critical operating conditions. This allows reliable disconnection of charge and discharge paths even in the event of protection IC or FET failure.
Gold-plated terminals ensure low and stable contact resistance, high signal integrity, and excellent corrosion resistance. The compact package supports high-power-density battery pack designs ranging from 1 to 24 cells.
Applications
Typical applications include energy storage systems, power tools, UPS equipment, e-bikes, e-scooters, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Supported by UL approvals and designed for redundant protection architectures required by modern battery safety standards, three-terminal fuses provide a robust and intelligent protection solution for advanced energy systems.
